We’ve been getting very excited about the changes taking place at www.saltzermed.com and finally, it’s here! If you’re a regular user of internet sites, you will be used to terms such as ‘blog’, ‘podcast’ and ‘web 2.0’. If you aren’t used to those terms, it boils down to this: content. We want to provide fresh, informative content that you can trust. In the medical field, there are a vast amount of websites out there, some trustworthy, some not so, but you don’t go to a doctor in Arizona – you live in Idaho and see a doctor here. So to add to the fresh, informative content, we want to provide you with local news and info.
I attended a lunch at the Meridian Chamber of Commerce about 18 months ago and heard a member of the Blueline Marketing team speak about the use of Web 2.0 technology to communicate with customers. (BlueLine Marketing have since become Tricycle Consulting and RIAFox)
I began thinking and dreaming of how it could be implemented in the medical world to be a useful tool for our patients, and, after meetings, discussions, planning and preparation, this is what we came up with.
The physicians of Saltzer Medical Group will be posting blogs on this website, communicating news and ideas to you that are important to them. You will be able to get to know your physicians better through this site, and to gain valuable, local knowledge. And that’s just the start. At the end of last year, we implemented a medical records program called eClinicalWorks and our plans include the use of the patient portal. This portal, once active (tentatively in 12 months time) will provide patients access to their statements, with bill paying ability, and also to receive communication from their physicians.
We believe that technology serves a purpose, and here it is to better serve our patients. Enjoy the site and let us know your thoughts on the new look!
