Pat Herman, LPN, Immunization Coordinator for Saltzer Medical Group received national recognition from Merck Pharmaceuticals for the role she plays in promoting and supporting childhood immunizations.

 The Vaccine Service Recognition Award is given to only a few representatives nationwide that truly make an impact in the area of childhood immunizations.

 Pat was also recently recognized by the State of Idaho as IRIS Champion for her role in getting children’s vaccine information entered in the IRIS system.  IRIS (Idaho Immunization Reminder Information System) is designed to keep children on track with their immunizations, and in the past has been recognized  as an Immunization Champion.

The award presentation took place Wednesday, August 25th and was attened by nearly 100 people including Pat’s husband and two children.

As sponsors of the Melba 4th of July parade we were privleged to have the opportunity to judge the parade. We had the opportunity to look at many floats, cars, horses, motorcycles and many other wonderful entries. It was fun to see how much pride everyone took in decorating their entry and in being part of this wonderful event. The final award was the sponsor trophy that we awarded to an entry we felt best portrayed both the theme and the community. The winner of this award was Sherry Penny and her step-daughter Amanda Madsen. Congratulations to you both!
