Dr. Richardson has recently started his practice in the Caldwell area and is excited to be able to provide high quality patient centered care to his patients in the valley.
He graduated from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. This was followed by his residency training at Eglin AFB Family Medicine Residency at Eglin AFB on the beautiful panhandle of Florida.
He comes to the valley from Albuquerque, New Mexico where he was stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base. There he spent 4 years as the Medical Director of the Kirtland AFB Family Practice Clinic. He had a very rewarding time in the Air Force taking care of our brave men and women who wear the uniform. His most memorable time in service was taking care of our troops while deployed to Iraq.
He has a wonderful wife and 5 beautiful children. He loves to spend time with them especially outdoors camping.
His professional interests include taking care of the variety of chronic and acute issues that arise in a family practice environment. His special interests include sports medicine/musculoskeletal/back pain, dermatologic evaluation/skin biopsies and men’s health including performing vasectomies. He has gone through training courses in myofascial pain management and has a lot of experience in treating trigger points for back pain and chronic headaches. This accompanied with his interest in osteopathic manipulation has been very helpful in providing relief for thousands of patients. Although he can prescribe medications his goal is to fine non-medicinal ways to treat pain and get to the source of the problem.
He believes strongly in listening and spending the amount of time necessary with each patient to develop an individualized plan of care. He is fluent in Spanish.

Saltzer Medical Group, department of Family Practice is pleased to welcome Dr. Kristyn Schelhaas. Dr. Schelhaas will see patients at Saltzer’s main location located at 215 E. Hawaii Ave, Nampa.
Dr. Schelhaas is originally from Twin Falls. She received her B.S. degree from College of Idaho in Caldwell before attending medical school at De Moines University – College of Osteopathic Medicine, De Moines, Iowa and completing her residencey at Iowa Lutheran Family Medicine Residency also in De Moines, Iowa.
Dr. Schelhaas will practice a full scope of family medicine, including obstetrics. She has a special interest in women’s health and pediatrics.

Lots of people have seen our new sign located on the beautiful Portico building on Eagle Road. There has been a lot of speculation concerning what that means for Saltzer. Here is the plan for that location. We are consolidating several clinics into one.
Currently in Meridian we have our Family Clinic located at 745 S. Progress Avenue, where we have Pediatrics, Family Practice, Surgery, Neurology and Occupational Medicine.
We also have our specialty clinic located in St. Lukes Meridian, 520 S. Eagle Road, Suite 2116, Meridian. That office includes ENT, Orthopedics, OB/GYN, and Dermatology.
These offices will be making the move to this one location in late spring or early summer.
