Tom Patterson, MD, named Pediatrician of the Year by Idaho American Academy of Pediatrics
Monday, February 22nd, 2010Tom Patterson, MD, named Pediatrician of the Year by Idaho American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Tom Patterson loves kids, and it shows in every area of his pediatric practice. Talk to a group of parents in the Treasure Valley and you are likely to encounter at least one “fan”. He is known for his genuine concern for children and just seems to have a special rapport with kids you can’t describe without the experience.
In addition to his thriving practice at Saltzer Medical Group in Nampa Dr. Patterson is known for his advocacy for immunizations. His tireless efforts were a vital part of the development of the state wide immunization coalition. He is also involved in legislative issues surrounding vaccine financing. Dr. Patterson currently serves as the VP of the American Academy of Pediatrics Idaho Chapter and will continue in that role until taking over as President in 2012. Dr. Patterson’s newest venture is to help educate the community about the devastating effects of Shaken Baby Syndrome.
The award was presented at the Idaho Perinatal Project Conference on Friday, February 19, at the Nampa Civic Center by Dr. Creighton Harding of the Idaho Chapter of the AAP.
